The reference and research materials contains unpublished, working manuscripts or copies of publications by other authors under the sub-series Woks by Others. Some of these files were used to help edit, to publish a review of the work, or for research purposes.

The Research by Subject sub-series includes subject files used for research. These may contain photocopies of articles with annotations, clippings, notes, drafts by Stephen O. Murray, and correspondence.
