The collection contains nine 8 x 10 inch gelatin silver prints taken by Jack Ramsdell of the St. Petersburg Times documenting freedom riders, Francis Randall and Ralph Diamond, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Only two of the photograps were published - one in the St. Petersburg Times and one in the paper's online history.

Scope and Contents

The collection of press photographs of desegregation and segregation efforts in Florida consists of photographs used in newspaper articles chronicling Civil Rights struggles between 1958 and 1964. The majority of the photographs depict attempts to desegregate public beaches and movie theaters in the city of St. Petersburg, as well as backlash against those attempts.

Scope and Contents This collection consists 21 postcards and fliers from concerts held at the Grande Ballroom, Detroit, Michigan between 1967 and 1968. The majority of the postcards were designed by Gary Grimshaw or Carl Lundgren, with one by Bonnie Green, and one by Donnie Dope also included. Psycholdelic in nature, the graphics are very colorful and include images of band members.The bands represented are Air Speed Inidicator, Apostles, Ashmollyan Quintet, Beacon Street Union, Blue Cheer, Born...
