Gardner Avery diary
George Dair diary
This collection contains a diary kept by George Dair, supervisor of Joyfield Township, Benzie County, Michigan. The diary deals with rural life in Benzie County. Early entries include information about Michigan weather, traveling routes, purchases of goods, and agricultural activities. The latter part of the diary includes entries of Joyfield Township records dealing with such matters as tax assessment rolls, the township voting count, and township finance.
Hall family papers
The collection contains diaries, account books for the household and farm, tax receipts, and miscellaneous papers of the Ernest Hall family. Included are three diaries (1932-1946) of Susannah Lindsey Hall, wife of Ernest Hall.

Henry T. Darlington papers
This collection contains twenty small notebooks that are filled with Darlington's handwritten notes. All of the notebooks relate back to Darlington's expeditions, interests, publication notes, Michigan history, and Botany 314 class. Included are notes related to Dr. Beal's seed viability experiment from 1930 and 1940.
One notebook is restricted until 2055, because it contains student grades.

The letters discuss family news, agriculture, and the activities of various family members. The collection also includes poetry, recipes, tax receipts, a deed, expense accounts, and an agricultural diary.
J. S. Preston papers
This collection contains twenty small diaries of J. S. Preston describing farm life in Shelby Township, Macomb County, Michigan, 1875-1895. At the end of each volume are yearly farm and household expense accounts. The folders contain receipts and newspaper clippings found within the volumes.

The Jackson family papers consists of the farm diary (1869) of H. L. Jackson of Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Also included are tax receipts for land in Kalamazoo County (1881-1893) and Allegan County (1883-1888).
Jean Hebert Brown collection
The Jean Hebert Brown family collection contains day books/diaries of Jennie Kedzie Stone, an autobiography of George A. Stone, and the Kedzie family history book, "Kedzies and Their Relatives," and its supplement, "A Century and a Year."
