This collection contains a farm account book (1841-1851) and bills and receipts (1840-1863) of Jonathon W. Austin, a resident of Lenawee County, Michigan. Also included are two letters (1851, 1854) to Austin, one of which discusses the hard times in Dundee, Monroe County, Michigan.

The Carpenter papers consist of one letter, written by G. Carpenter of Ravenna, Ohio, to his brother, Joseph Painter Carpenter, of Blissfield, Michigan. This letter, dated August 19, 1835, discusses the issues regarding the boundary dispute between Michigan and Ohio in the 1830s.

Julia A. Moore collection
This collection consists of one box of materials about the poetry of Julia A. Moore, who in her heyday was called the Sweet Singer in Michigan. The collective consists of family pictures, correspondence to and clippings about Ms. Moore, correspondence by H. A. Greenly, copies of published works not individually catalogued in MSU Libraries, and photocopies of three of her works.
