Charles D. Staton collection

Scope and Contents This collection contains the digitized versions of two dvds which were created from home movies filmed by Charles Staton in 1965 or 1966. The footage shows a dormitory cafeteria, possibly Wonders Hall or Wilson Hall, and includes scenes of food preparation, a serving line, students eating, workers clearing tables and washing dishes. The second dvd shows footage of football players eating in the cafeteria with some additional footage of a cafeteria line and a server.

Content Description The collection consists of small pieces of paper with photos of football players on them possibly sold as a fund raiser. The pieces have a photo, player's name and phrases like "Beat Michigan" and "I want to help." They also say "Watch for the On to Victory Poster" and "See Carp Julian- Harvey & Co. Service." Scope and Contents This collection contains one program, one poster, 151 photographs (147 regular plus 4 oversize), and 25 postcards dealing with Michigan State University history collected by Larry Bielat. The photographs contain many individual photographs of athletes from 1929-1944. There are also many early photographs of the football team and a variety of pictures from the marching band spanning over thirty years. Scope and Contents The collection consists of photocopies of pages from the Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) yearbook, the Wolverine, from 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1942 that have handwritten dates of death for some students. Also included is play information from football games. The dates of the games are unknown but they are from a MSC vs. Wayne game and a MSC vs. University of Michigan game. There are also sheets that list the positions of the players.
