Charles H. Gorsuch papers

Scope and Contents

These papers contain military records (1861-1866) of Captain Charles H. Gorsuch, who commanded Company K, 38th Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. The records include clothing and equipment inventories, invoices for ordinance and ordinance stores, and equipment depositions. Also included are correspondence, legal documents and receipts relating to Gorsuch's involvement in farming and in business activities after the war in Ohio and then in Waldron, Hillsdale County, Michigan.

Charles Hutchinson Thompson papers

Scope and Contents The collection contains diaries (1891-1916), journals (1858-1869), and an account book (1859-1861) of Charles Hutchinson Thompson (1838-1916), a clerk in the State offices in Lansing, Michigan. Born in LeRoy, New York, he visited Michigan in 1845-1847 and returned to Orleans County, New York, where he attended school and held various jobs. Thompson moved to Michigan in 1856 and worked on a farm in Van Buren County until December 1857, when he was appointed porter in the State offices. He...

This collection consists of letters, notes, reports and maps from Monroe's survey work. Also included are Monroe's notes about bills he introduced in the Michigan State Senate in the 1880s, and a diary kept during a trip to Europe, Egypt, and England in 1904.

Delegates were nominated to the 1961 constitutional convention in July and elected in August. Work began in October and finished in August 1962. Scope and Contents

The Charles Johnson collection consists of a class materials including syllabi, notes and handouts for LA 256, LA 254, Weaving 813c,and EGR 365. The material for each class is incomplete. Also included is Songs of Theta Chi which was produced by the national organization. Also included is an oversize drawing of a living room furnture layout for the MSU Theta Chi fraternity drawn by Johnson Brothers Furniture Company in 1987. It is unknown if this layout was used by the fraternity.

Charles Rowe collection

The photographs include a row of cars at Harold Square in New York City lined up to welcome Percy F. Megargel and David Fassett back from their 12,000 mile double cross-continent auto tour in their 16 horse power REO Mountaineer.
