Scope and Contents The Lickly family papers contain Civil War letters (1862-1864) of William Lickly, James Lickly, and Albert Barber, to and from friends and relatives. They were members of the 18th Michigan Infantry Regiment. The letters contain articulate descriptions of military life and occasional commentary on the condition of "Negroes in the South." Methodist Episcopal Church records

The collection consist of ten small volumes from the Methodist Episcopal Church of Sherman, Michigan. The first eight volumes are records of Sunday School attendance and lessons, 1898-1941. The ninth volume records minutes of quarterly conferences, 1895-1899. Minutes of the Ladies Aid Society, 1919-1936, are in the tenth volume.

This collection includes the minutes of meetings (1844-1852) of a Baptist church society of Calhoun and Jackson Counties, Michigan, and the articles of incorporation (1876) of the First Baptist Church of Springport, Michigan. Also included are two receipts, one for the purchase of a ball (1887) and the other for the purchase of a grave stone (1879), and a large account book listing the prices of various items (1844-1889).
