This collections consists of two letters (1876, 1880) written by James A. Garfield to Justin Hayes of Chicago, the first stating that he will be glad to receive Hayes's son at Washington and noting the enclosure of a copy of his speech at the Amnesty Bill; and the second one thanking the Hayes family for their congratulations.
