Charles L. Mack papers
This collection includes the transcribed letters of Civil War infantryman, Benjamin Franklin Marsh, compiled by Michigan State student Charles L. Mack. The original letters can be found in the Marsh family papers (c.00047). Also included is a paper written by Charles L. Mack on Benjamin F. Marsh and the Eighth Michigan Infantry.

Civil War Period Newspapers collection
This collection includes single issues of American newspapers from the Civil War period which do not directly relate to other Historical Collections. The April 1865 issues of the New York Herald and the Weekly Journal of Commerce report the surrender of General Robert E. Lee and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
Civil War relief efforts collection
This collection consists of materials from volunteer relief efforts for various counties in Michigan (1864-1867). Documents include a relief roll recording payments made to families of men serving in the army during the Civil War and later, as well as several letters applying for such aid.
Clark family papers
This collection contains various documents relating to the Clark Family, especially Josephus Clark, of Branch County, Michigan. It includes tax receipts, deeds, marriage certificates, Josephus Clark's Civil War discharge, and materials dealing with his military pension.
Clyde and Mary Henson collection
The Clyde and Mary Henson collection primarily contains portraits of Civil War veterans. Notable portraits include Ulysses S. Grant and George B. McClellan. The Davis family papers consist primarily of the collection of over 180 letters written by Thomas (T. J.) to his wife, Lucinda, during the Civil War. Also included are Lucinda Davis' reminiscences and an obituary prepared when she died.
The collection also includes transcriptions of the letters done by Thomas Nanzig.
