Carrie Usewick Harvey reminiscences

Scope and Contents This collection consists of the typewritten reminiscences of Carrie Usewick Harvey, of Wexford County, Michigan, as told to her daughter.

The reminiscences gave an account of the family's migration and settlement in Wexford County, and Carrie's recollections of her youth. They also describe early lumbering operations and homemade remedies for illness.

Frank Pyatt papers

Scope and Contents This collection consists of two poems and a unpublished novel, Woodman's Trail, written by Frank Pyatt. Both the poems and the novel describe Michigan lumbering in the pine era. Pyatt wrote several fictional accounts of Michigan lumbering, largely because he was dissatisfied with historical accounts.

Also included are biographical notes from an interview with Pyatt.
