The Alton Wheaton papers contain primarily financial records and other forms of inventory that Wheaton took while working on his farm. There is also a small section on some of Wheaton’s community activities, some photographs of said activities, and two books on the Wheaton family genealogy. There are also a number of folders containing deeds and titles to various pieces of land Wheaton owned. There are also catalogs, plans, newsletters and brochures on farm topics.

The bulk of the collection contains material relating to the issues that interested Hill most as a teacher and researcher. He taught a number of courses on farm appraisal and agricultural finance, and his reference material appears here. The papers of Henry Larzelere pertain to his work with Michigan regional fruit cooperatives. Specific organizations contained in the collection include the Michigan Blueberry Growers' Association, the Millburg Growers' Exchange, Peach Marketing Group, the South Haven Fruit Exchange, and the Watervliet Fruit Exchange. The aim of these cooperatives was to maximize their profits.
