Scope and Contents This collection consists of a photocopy of an unpublished manuscript, "Journey into the Wilderness," a narrative history of the Pemberton family of Mecosta County, Michigan from 1863 to 1907. In her book, the author and illustrator, Nell Pemberton-Rosenzweig, also tells how she became interested in her family history and came to write their story. This collection consists of a centennial history (1956) of the Swartz Creek Community Methodist Church in Swartz Creek, Michigan. The history was prepared by church members Daniel and Marion Miller. It contains a history of the church, a membership list, photographs of the church and church members, and histories of church committees and organizations, such as the Methodist Youth Fellowship.
