The records contain department newsletters, brochures, and writing guides. Also included is “English as a Subversive Activity: An Unofficial Guide for English Majors at MSU,” issues of the journal Gypsy Scholar: a Graduate Forum for Literary Criticism, “A Half Century Ago: Michigan in the Great Depression” Symposium Proceedings, a placement test for freshmen, and plagiarism policies. There are also photographs of English Department faculty and staff some of which are identified.

This collection contains twenty-seven volumes of class notes from the school years of George R. Pray, a medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School, class of 1900. Included are one volume of class notes from grade eight in 1891, three volumes of class notes from Ann Arbor High School (1892-1893), and twenty-two volumes of class notes from the University of Michigan Medical School. Also included is one miscellaneous volume.
