Scope and Contents

The Floyd M. Barden papers consist of an oral history interview conducted by Frank Dennis in 1973. Barden discusses fruit farming in South Haven (1850-1900), his experiences while a student at Michigan Agricultural College (1904-1908), and his later interaction with the College, particularly his work with the Cooperative Extension Service (circa 1910-1930). The collection includes an audio cassette and transcription of the interview.

This collection consists of annual reports, treasurer's ledgers, secretary's records books, correspondence, receipts, resolutions, and meeting minutes. There is also one oversized scrapbook which contains information on Society meetings, events, and newspaper articles.
