Scope and Contents This collection contains letters and newspaper clippings pertaining to the development of Walter J. Hayes State Park near Clinton, Michigan. Herman Halladay, a Clinton resident and Secretary of the Michigan State Board of Agriculture, was one of the first to suggest creating a state park at Wamplers Lake in the heart of the Irish Hills.
