Scope and Contents

This collection consists of seven film reels and one videocassette of Belgian draft horse footage, some indicating they were shot at horse shows in March 1942 in Lafayette and Indianapolis. Some reels appear brittle and should not be viewed. There appears to be reel 1 and 2 for some of the shows. These films have been numbered #1161-1168.

The collection contains photographs of the John Patterson farm which was bought from Hiram Allen in 1908. Photographs include the house circa 1908 and 1961, the barn, and an image of horses harnessed to a buggy. The photographs include notes on the back explaining the photos.

The publication is listed as leaflet 190 and was produced in 1928. In the acknowledgements, R. S. Young of Michigan is thanked. The reference is most likely to Ralph S. This collection consists of five color postcards of covered wagons, and one of horses drawing wagons of hay. Also included are photographs of horses, circuses, farmers harvesting crops using horse drawn farm equipment.
