The collection contains a 16 mm, color/sound film (25 minutes) entitled "The Spirit of Freedom" which shows Benjamin Franklin touring a modern newspaper plant and his visit to an elementary classroom where students are using the newspaper.

The records of the School of Journalism include conference proceedings, syllabi, historical summaries, Michigan Interscholastic Press Association newsletters and conference programs, program brochures, and “Third World Genesis” a newspaper from a 1973 journalism workshop.
