Alumni Band Association records
The collections consists of records of the MSU Alumni Band Association including meeting minutes, newsletters, correspondence, materials relating to overseas trips, and photographs and slides.
The electronic resources, "Spartan Marching Band--The Four Roses, undated" is a collection of digitized film footage of four MSU marching bands that went to the Rose Bowl (1954,1956,1966,1988).
Dick Charles papers
The Dick Charles papers contains dance band arrangements used by the Dick Charles Band, which was active in Michigan and later in California. The majority of the music is for saxophone ensemble or saxophone orchestra. These arrangements include popular dance tunes from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s and provide a rare glimpse into the performing life of big band musicians.
