Published reminiscences of Clayton Smith, titled "Seventy-Five Years with a County Boy." In the book, Smith tells about his experiences while growing up on a farm in Barnard, Michigan; his experience in the Merchant Marines in World War II; and his work selling fruit in the Upper Peninsula. Also included are various short stories of Smith's adventures in fishing and trapping. The book was published in 1991 by Trapper Cabin Press in Charlevoix, Michigan.

This collection contains typed copies of two interviews of old pioneers of Northern Michigan conducted by Harold Tubbs, District Game Supervisor. In the first interview Mrs. Elizabeth Foley of Grayling recalls her early experiences in Grayling and lumbering in the late 1800s.
