Scope and Contents The Kinney family papers cover three generations, and family members were located in Kansas, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, and Ohio. Edward Porter Kinney's papers comprise a large portion of the collection. Since E. P. Kinney lived and worked in the Lansing area, much of the material in this collection pertains to East Lansing and Lansing, Michigan. This collection consists mainly of publications credited to Leroy S. Foltz over his distinguished career. Also included is personal correspondence between Foltz and organizations in which he was a member, and correspondence with John Hannah, president of Michigan State College (now Michigan State University), as well as newspaper clippings, talks given on education by Foltz and letters to the editor of various newspapers.
