This collection contains dance orchestra music in arrangements popular throughout central Michigan in the early 1900s. The collection includes photographs of Floyd von Richter, orchestras and miscellaneous people and also includes sheet music published in Lansing, Michigan by von Richter as well as other composers. There is also included a document showing von Richter's competency in piano tuning and repair.
This collection consists of concert programs from the MSU University Chorus and Orchestra Christmas concerts and sheet music for "The Divine Mystery: A Parable for Christmas" and "Gloria in Excelsis."
The papers consist of materials related to Harry Begian’s career at Michigan State University. These consist of band performance information, clippings, and photographs. The photographs include groups, band formations, and people. Notable people in the photographs are Governor William Milliken, MSU President Clifford Wharton, Jack Breslin, Clarence "Biggie" Munn, Randall J. Spicer, and Harry Begian.
The collection was transferred from the Capital Area District Library. It consists of manuscript materials that were written by Mary K. Sarlow along with correspondence, articles, personal materials, sheet music, demo records, poetry, lyrics, and photographs.
