Scope and Contents
The Edward G. Granger Papers consist of a diary and scrapbook created by Granger, as well as Civil War letters written during Granger’s enlistment in the Union Army, portraits, and newspaper clippings regarding the extended family. Included within the diary, the first portion (November 29, 1858 – February 20, 1859) was written while Granger was attending Michigan Agricultural College, and discusses classes, work assignments, daily routine, and recreation.
