This collection consists of materials relating to Frank Peabody's time as a student at Michigan State College, as well as his career as a professor at Michigan State University. Included are correspondence, photographs, newspapers, course materials, publications, and materials from the Summer Institute in Biology.
The papers consist of materials related to Harry Begian’s career at Michigan State University. These consist of band performance information, clippings, and photographs. The photographs include groups, band formations, and people. Notable people in the photographs are Governor William Milliken, MSU President Clifford Wharton, Jack Breslin, Clarence "Biggie" Munn, Randall J. Spicer, and Harry Begian.
The Michigan State University Band travels by train to the Rose Bowl in 1956. In addition to pre-game and half-time shows, the band makes concert appearances in Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles' Pershing Square, Tucson, Dallas, and St. Louis. The pre-game show is entitled "The Toy Town Band on Parade", and the half-time show is "Story of the American Bandstand". The band is also shown marching in the 67th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade.
