The Madison Kuhn collection consists of materials accumulated by Kuhn during his tenure as University Historian. This collection, which was drawn from his reference files, constitutes only a small portion of the total documentation which he donated to the Archives. People gather at Capitol City Airport in Lansing, Michigan to send off Michigan State football players and coaches on their way to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Those present include Michigan Governor G. Mennen Williams and Lansing Mayor Ralph Crego. Phyllis Jorissen, Michigan's apple queen, presented the team with cases of Michigan apples for their trip.
