This collection consists of the typewritten reminiscences of Carrie Usewick Harvey, of Wexford County, Michigan, as told to her daughter.

The reminiscences gave an account of the family's migration and settlement in Wexford County, and Carrie's recollections of her youth. They also describe early lumbering operations and homemade remedies for illness.

This collection contains one bound volume containing twenty-five teacher contracts signed by the school board for School District No.1 in the township of Cedar Creek, Wexford County, Michigan. These contracts were for one month to ten months with the pay ranging from thirty to forty dollars.

Scope and Contents The bulk of the collection contains material relating to the issues that interested Hill most as a teacher and researcher. He taught a number of courses on farm appraisal and agricultural finance, and his reference material appears here.
