Scope and Contents The collection contains materials assembled by the donor, mostly relating to the early settlers and history of Lenawee County, Michigan. Included are deeds, mortgages, and other legal documents (1821-1880) of Tecumseh, Michigan, as well as accounts of a gristmill (1849, 1858). Scope and Contents

Papers of George Ellis consist of a scrapbook, college songs, poems written by Ellis, and a line graph Ellis drew showing his salary increases and describing his various engineering jobs from 1907 to 1950. The scrapbook contains photographs of Ellis and his friends, a 1906 Michigan Agricultural College calendar, college songs and yells, and photographs cut from M.A.C. catalogs dating from 1899.

Scope and Contents The bulk of the Raymond Lyon Bowers papers consist of his original sheet music. The sheet music covers early compositions in school to later unpublished works. The music is either on loose paper or in composition notebooks. Bowers had numbered all of his sheet music and created a numerical list. This order has been maintained in the collection, with the exception of the materials on his opera, Legends of Alhambra.
