Scope and Contents The Clare A. Gunn papers consist of publications and visual materials relating to tourism in Michigan (including the Upper Peninsula). Of note are photographs, negatives and slides of Michigan motels, resorts, and tourist areas many of which are identified by name and owner. This half hour film outlines teaching, research and extension programs of Michigan State College, as well as the Physical Plant and available recreational facilities.

The film was effective in making contacts with alumni clubs across the country, and was used in college cooperation programs with high schools, extension personnel, and other groups.

The T. S. Dimmick collection contains glass lantern slides of scenes of family life and recreation. Images of family life include mealtime, Christmas, relaxing at home, leisure activities. The recreation images include visits to a beach, sailing, fishing, iceboating, sledding, and bicycling.
