Addy Walker is an American Girl doll depicting an African-American enslaved girl who escaped to freedom in 1864. At the beginning of the accompanying book, Addy is a nine year old girl living on a plantation in North Carolina. After her brother and father are sold, Addy and her mother escape through the Underground Railroad to Philadelphia.
