Scope and Contents This collections consists of letters addressed to Jacob J. Wagner of Monongalia County, Virginia and LePorte, Indiana. Monongalia County is now part of West Virginia. Two letters (1831, 1833), written by friends in Indiana while Wagner still lived in Virginia, describe travel conditions, pioneer life, weather and the abundance of agricultural produce in Indiana.
