Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials received from the Urban Policy and Planning Library. The materials primarily relate to Native American education issues in Michigan. There are several reports from the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan Commission on Indian Affairs. The collection contains two issues of Wassaja, a national newspaper of Indian America, from 1982; and two issues of Pointing the Way, a Native American newspaper from the Sault Saint Marie area. There are also some materials which relate directly to Michigan State University. There is a booklet containing information on policy and planning related courses at MSU from 1979. There is also a 1972 list of selected materials from the Center for Urban Affairs In-house Library relating to African American culture, history, literature, and current affairs.
