Scope and Contents

Footage of the September 1969 non-conference game against the University of Washington Huskies at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. MSU Head Coach - Duffy Daugherty; Washington Head Coach - Jim Owens. Spartans won 27-11.

Images include starting players from both teams running out onto the stadium's new Tartan Turf, logos on the Spartan helmets to signify the 100th anniversary of varsity football, silent halftime footage of the 15th annual Band Day (featuring the Spartan Marching Band under the direction of MSU's Director of Bands, Harry Begian, and marching units from 34 Michigan high schools), and Daugherty shaking hands with Husky head coach Owens as they leave the field.
