Biographical Note
Hugh Irvin Glazier enrolled at Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) in 1903 in the Mechanical Engineering program, graduating in 1907. During his student years he was active in many student organizations including Tau Beta Pi, the Union Literary Society, and M.A.C. Oratorical Association. He took first place in the Ninth Annual Contest of the Michigan Oratorical League in 1906. Also active in sports, he played on the class football team and was Director of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
Glazier's graduating class was honored by receiving their diplomas from President Theodore Roosevelt who was visiting the College during the celebration of its semi-centennial.
