Historical Note

The MSU Business Women’s Association began in the early 1930s as a group of female secretaries and office support staff of Michigan State College, now University, and the State of Michigan established the Michigan State Club – College Branch. In 1953, the Club was renamed the Michigan State College Business Girls Club, and in 1955, the name was changed again to the MSU Business Women’s Club. Finally, in 1986, the organization was renamed once more as the Michigan State University Business Women’s Association. The MSU Business Women's Association has provided membership to many female secretaries and office support staff across campus, historically providing opportunities to engage in their Bosses Luncheons, Institutes, Changing of the Guard proceedings, and theatre trips.
