Henrietta Marsh Thompson sheet music collection
Scope and Contents
The Henrietta Marsh Thompson sheet music collection consists of one volume of sheet music collected and bound by Thompson. The majority of the 44 songs were composed between 1860 and 1868. Several songs refer to the Civil War and there is also some Christmas music. Some of the sheet music is torn and some pages have sections missing. The volume was unbound due to deterioration of the spine.

Biographical Note
Henrietta Marsh Thompson was born on December 26, 1844 and lived in Delaware County, Ohio. She married Milo Henry Lewis on November 17, 1870. Lewis was originally born in Ogden, New York, but moved to Ohio in his early twenties. He died on May 18, 1898 and Henrietta died on April 6, 1929. They are both buried at the Cheshire Cemetery in Delaware County, Ohio.
The music was given to Henrietta Thompson by Milo Henry Lewis while they were courting. The sheet music in the collection was donated by their granddaughter, Margaret Cook Hunt.
