Biographical Note

Walter W. Mode was born on October 5, 1913 in Zimmerman, Minnesota. He received his B.B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1943 and his M.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1944. In 1944-1945 he was an Administrative Analyst for the Social Security Board. He then went on to become a Associate Regional Representative. In 1948 he became the Region I Executive Assistant for the Department of Health Education and Welfare. In 1955 he was selected to participate in the Michigan State University Vietnam Project as a Specialist in Health and Welfare Administration. He was involved in the Vietnam Project until 1957.
