Scope and Contents
The collection consists of two letters Bertha Muehlmann wrote to her future husband Fred J. Rittschof. In the letters she discusses the cold weather and several upcoming dances. Also included is a photograph of Bertha with two other unknown women; she is in the center.

Biographical Note
Bertha K. Muehlmann was born on November 22, 1885 in Chicago but later moved to Frankfort, Michigan as a young girl. She attended Michigan Agricultural College from 1905 to 1907 as a special student. She later taught one semester of classes in Rochester, New York. Bertha married Fred J. Rittschof in 1910 and had four children, two of whom survived. She died on August 28, 1949 in Michigan.
