Scope and Contents

Sheet music, 4 pp., for song “Brazil”. Disney film, part animation, set in South America, introducing new animated character Jose Carioca of Rio. Live-action segments show members of the Disney staff touring South America and recording their impressions in sketches. This film, and many others from this period, were part of Hollywood’s movie-making effort in allying with the South American countries during the United States involvement in World War II. This film taught American audiences about many aspects of life in South American countries.
