Scope and Contents
The collection is comprised of three Series. Series I includes files from the Lansing Cristo Rey Community Center that were recovered by T. Mireles; Series II. includes some of the files of the Xicano Development Center, Lansing and Detroit offices; and Series III. Select files from the MEChA/MEXA files previously sited at the MSU Libraries. The originals were deaccessioned and returned to a MEChA officer. All series contains meeting agendas and minutes, budgets, correspondence, and printed materials regarding the activities of the organizations. The Michigan State University student chapter of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA) series also includes their constitution, membership information, newspaper articles and action files. Significant in this series is information on the student led MSU grape boycott, Book Check Out, Affirmative Action issues, Chicano Latino Studies correspondence and planning notes as well as the agreements between the MSU administration and MEChA on negotiated points.

Abstract
This folder includes a reproduction of the 1998 Labor's International Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Cesar Chavez, President of the UFW was inducted. It also includes a flier for the 4th Annual March and Dance in support of strawberry workers and Cesar Chavez Avenue in Lansing Michigan. Richard Chavez is listed as the Special Guest. In a letter, Chavez acknowledges the efforts of MSU students calling for an MSU grape boycott, the hunger strike and monies that MSU provided the Cesar E. Chavez Commission dinner. This folder also contains an invitation for Richard Chavez as a keynote speaker at the MLK celebration at Muskegon Community College.
