Breasted and Bearded Manhood in Victorian America: The Androgynous Mediumship of John Shoebridge Williams. c. Combs, D. C. and Heger, H. K. A Gender Ethic Investigation of Relationship Closeness of the Father and the Experience of Grief. This paper looks at the “father wound” and its implications for father-son relationships in the formation of gender identity and which may result in significant feelings of aloneness and separateness plus be unexpressed because of fear of being seen as weak. d. Dowless, J. “The Men on Machines”: Homophobia, Violence, and Pop Culture seen through “Mad Max” and “The Road Warrior.” e. Everingham, J. Inadvertent Shaming Among Men: Family Rules & Shaming Acts. f. Gray, D. When Manliness Unmans Men: The Search for a Mercantile-Imperial Masculinity in Late Seventeenth-Century England. This paper is an analysis of the masculinity that the men of the middle class began to construct prior to the Industrial Revolution and the impact of Dutch merchants on that social construction.
