Scope and Contents
The Juana and Jesse Gonzales papers (1949-2000) contain reports, newsletters, reprints, unpublished papers and news clippings collected by Jesse and Juana Gonzales since the late 1960s through 2006. A significant part of the collection dates from the mid-1960s through the mid-1980s relating to Chicano student activism on campuses, Chicanos and Latinos in the arts, and materials on the history of Chicanos and Latinos in Michigan including agricultural labor and migrant workers. Included in the collection is an oral history with Mr. Gonzales conducted by students in MSU American Studies 881 in 2007.

Abstract
This folder includes correspondence between professor Israel Cuellar, director of the Julian Samora Research Institute (JSRI) at MSU and faculty in regards to the similarity of the JSRI calendar and one previously researched, designed and published by Gonzales. Also included are two copies of the calendar.
