This collection represents the entirety of paper and photographic material saved by Winifred Galloway at the end of her life. Documents cover her entire lifespan, and include notes from her undergraduate education at the University of Wycoming, documentation of her time in the Peace Corps and of her doctorate at Indiana University, and many pre-publication drafts and notes from her time working in the Gambia. The collection also has documents related to her life after her return to the United States in 1984, particularly as concerns job searching at various points. The collection has several photographs and many slides of her time in Australia and Africa, as well as some slides from Europe and many from Wycoming. Of note are the many maps annotated by Galloway related to her work conducting oral histories and studying the peoples of the Gambia.
