Scope and Contents

The Amy Davis collection consist of the volume Michigan State University: Off the Record by alumna Amy Davis, published by College Prowler. The publication is arranged topically and contains facts, statistics, and resources. For some topics, there are quotes by Michigan State University students. Topics include academics, facilities, housing, dining, diversity, campus and local life.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of photos mounted on mattes, scrapbook of photos, and loose photos taken by Arthur Clendenin, Jr. The images include photos of Michigan State College (now Michigan State University) campus buildings, a few photos of athletics, exterior of Rose Bowl stadium in 1954, homecoming court contest in 1953, homecoming queen Ardeth Raymond, Kappa Alpha Mu (photojournalism honorary society) events, and the Michigan Press Photographers conference.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of seven issues of Campus Capsules. The newsletter gives information about the activities of each class, campus events such as the finishing of the carillon, WKAR-TV’s first telecast, the 1954 Rose Bowl, and the name change from Michigan State College to Michigan State University of Agriculture and Applied Science. The issues also include information about the athletic teams.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of the student scrapbooks of John Wesley Knecht and Helen Louise Norton who later married. Helen's scrapbooks contains dance cards, event programs, photos of campus and people, information about her classes, flyers for pep rallies, college circus program, notice about small pox from 1910 and a note from Maud Gilchrist say that Helen is not working hard enough at her studies.John Knechts scrapbook contains photos of athletics including football, baseball,...

Content

The Thomas Andrews collection contains photographs related to Michigan State University. The images include students on a beach with a keg drinking and smoking. Other images include women students looking out of windows of a building, the inside of a stationoray or bookstore, students walking on the sidewalks of campus, students in a laboratory, the cover of the 1958 yearbook, and contact sheets of aerial views of campus.
