Sears, Roebuck and Company photographs

These photographs are of the different locations of Sears stores in the Lansing, Michigan area. Each photo is 16”x 20”. Five images depict the Automotive Center, Retail Store, and Farm Store in downtown Lansing. Four images are of the Frandor Shopping Center site, one is of the pre-construction site. One image is a store advertisement.

Stebbins family papers

Scope and Contents A manuscript copy of Stebbins' book A History of Plymouth Church (of Lansing) written in 1893 is included. Stebbins compiled an autobiography entitled Sketches of My Life, which he was completing at his death in 1901. The collection consist of the February 5, 1897 issue of Timely Topics. The periodical was edited and published by Henry R. Pattengill in Lansing, Michigan. The periodical bills itself as "weekly nonpartisan news" including "history, science, politics, geography and literature." Scope and Contents This collection consists primarily of letters between Oka and Sarah Ann while he was in Lansing, Michigan. Sarah Ann's letters deal mainly with family matters and the farm. Treiber family papers

Scope and Contents The Treiber papers consist of correspondence, family history, and teaching certificates. John Treiber's letters to his wife, which make up the bulk of the collection, were written in 1872 and 1873 when he was sailing on the Great Lakes and working as a lumberjack in Oconto, Wisconsin.
