Scope and Contents The collection contains 35 letters and 2 homemade account journals. Eight letters (1849-1899) were written by relatives of Mrs. Kellogg. The bulk of this collection consists of scrapbooks. The twenty scrapbooks are filled with newspaper clippings, magazine articles, and pictures covering such diverse topics as World War II, the Middle East, Lansing and East Lansing, Japanese culture and flower gardening. Also included are Ethel Rathke's prose and poetry and her correspondence with publishing companies, friends, and acquaintances.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of the poem "The 25th Anniversary of 4-H Clubs" written in 1940 by Plumb and newspaper and magazine articles from 1940, 1942, 1961, and 1983 about her being judged best in a contest and winning an REO touring car. Frank D. Lewis collection

Scope and Contents

This collection contains two Civil War poems, "The Dying Soldier at Manassas" and "The Veteran's Growl." "The Veteran's Growl" was written by a soldier who was sent to Texas on garrison duty after the war ended. The author describes the miserable conditions in Texas and satirizes War Department policies and Union leaders.

Also included is a brief genealogy of the Lewis family.

Frank Pyatt papers

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two poems and a unpublished novel, Woodman's Trail, written by Frank Pyatt. Both the poems and the novel describe Michigan lumbering in the pine era. Pyatt wrote several fictional accounts of Michigan lumbering, largely because he was dissatisfied with historical accounts.

Also included are biographical notes from an interview with Pyatt.

George Henry Ellis papers

Papers of George Ellis consist of a scrapbook, college songs, poems written by Ellis, and a line graph Ellis drew showing his salary increases and describing his various engineering jobs from 1907 to 1950. The scrapbook contains photographs of Ellis and his friends, a 1906 Michigan Agricultural College calendar, college songs and yells, and photographs cut from M.A.C. catalogs dating from 1899.
