Scope and Contents

Silent B-roll footage of the December 2007 destruction of the Paolucci building, a site used for the School of Home Economics. The building was named for Beatrice Paolucci, a College of Human Ecology faculty member at Michigan State. The building was razed to make room for the construction of the Broad Art Museum.

This film was done in the format of a letter home from an MSC student to a younger brother, describing the college and its student body, c. 1950. It features speeches by President John A. Hannah, and shows campus buildings, including Old Wells Hall, Fairchild Auditorium, Shaw Hall, and Quonset huts (used as married housing at the time).
