The David L. Friday papers consist primarily of lecture correspondence. There are also a set of financial records (mostly undated) that might pertain to Friday's tenure at the University of Michigan, some telegrams and newsclippings, legislative material, and Friday's working papers.

The collection consists of several scrapbooks containing newspaper articles of Franklin D. Roosevelt's private and political life from 1934 to 1940. There is also a Vermontville School Register (1891-1895), a booklet containing teacher contracts in Eaton County, financial records, data pertaining to Michigan railroads, Michigan Constitutional Convention of 1907 Handbook, and diaries dating from 1908 to 1933.

Glee Club records

Scope and Contents

The collection contains newspaper articles about the club, concert programs, a blank contract, and images of the glee club clipped from publications as well as photographs of the Glee Club, Glee and Mandolin Club, and Men's Glee Club.

Also included is an undated (circa 1955) 45 rpm recording called "Men's Glee Club Sings." The songs include Close Behind the Winding Cedar with James McMahon soloist, Spartan Toast, MSC Shadows, and Fight Song.

The Lewis Ransom Fiske papers include presidential reports to the State Board of Agriculture, two published speeches, an address, correspondence, financial papers, a student petition, and biographical information on Fiske. One item of interest is the two articles in the Michigan Farmer Newspaper (Fl. 10) which describe in detail the expense, effort,and process of clearing land for the original campus area.

Oscar Clute papers

The Oscar Clute papers consist primarily of correspondence (1889-1893) during Clute's presidency at Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University). Also included are several articles on education and M.A.C., and information about the 1893 Columbian Exposition. The period of Clute's presidency was characterized by student unrest, political crises, and faculty turnover.
