The three ledgers contain accounting information for the Eclectic Society from 1917-1929. There is information about the society's house, its members, its social events, and the café it ran.

The folders contain a social activity program, information on a proposed building for the society, stockholders in the society, society directories, copies of their newsletter, The Tic, from 1894, 1915, 1921 and 1924.

Scope and Contents

The collection contains newspaper articles about the club, concert programs, a blank contract, and images of the glee club clipped from publications as well as photographs of the Glee Club, Glee and Mandolin Club, and Men's Glee Club.

Also included is an undated (circa 1955) 45 rpm recording called "Men's Glee Club Sings." The songs include Close Behind the Winding Cedar with James McMahon soloist, Spartan Toast, MSC Shadows, and Fight Song.

The records of the M.A.C. Oratorical Association contain the Treasurer’s account book, grade cards filled out by competition judges, receipts, the Secretary’s book, and two programs from the 1899 Oratorical contest. The Secretary’s book has the group’s constitution along with contest results from 1888 to 1899.

Scope and Contents The records of the Office of Planning and Budget contain early accounts, vouchers, receipts and cancelled checks for 1852 to 1924. Of interest are bills for boarding halls, student labor accounts, and bills for equipment. The 1875, 1876 and first part of 1877 vouchers are in order of year, abstract letter, and finally voucher number. Scope and Contents The papers of Peter Felker consist of three diaries for 1868, 1869, and 1870, in which he details his life as a student at Michigan Agricultural College. The diaries include descriptions of course work, work done for the college, and leisure activities. He also describes travel and work in Jackson, Michigan. Scope and Content The records of the Student Council are comprised of two bound volumes, containing the constitution and bylaws, and the meeting minutes, respectively. The constitution and bylaws outline the assorted powers of the council, including the power to hold trials and the ability to pass residence hall standards. The records of the Students’ Association contain a single bound volume, which includes the constitution of the organization and the procedures for holding a trial, determining jury duty for trials, appealing the verdict, the punishments for being found guilty, and the rules within the dormitories.
