Scope and Contents

Written and directed by F.L. McConkey and narrated by Ken Beachler, this film highlights events and changes that took place at Michigan State University during the 1961-62 academic year. The jazzy soundtrack was composed by Dr. Maurice Crane, Ron English, and Danny Spencer.

Topics include cyclotron laboratory director Henry Blosser speaking about MSU's cyclotron; jazz musician Stan Kenton visiting the campus to discuss music and conservatories; sports highlights; construction of Wilson and Case halls, the Owen graduate center, and a new primary school in Spartan Village; widening of Farm Lane and Shaw Lane; splitting of the College of Science and Arts into three colleges.
