Scope and Contents
The collection contains a journal that was kept by Michigan State University student Donna L. Rinn during a Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE) sponsored tour of the People's Republic of China in 1979. Rinn traveled to Tokyo, Peking, Chengtu, Shanghai, Hangchow, Kwangchow, Shumchun, and Hong Kong. The journal contains Rinn's description and comments on China and its people. The itinerary for the tour is also included.

Historical Note
Michigan State University was asked by the Council of International Education Exchange (CIEE) to join in their first study tour to the People's Republic of China. Donna L. Rinn was a participant on the tour in January 2-25, 1979. This tour was the first of its kind offered to Michigan State University students.
