Historical Note

Since it began operations in 1962, the College of Business and the Graduate School of Business Administration have reported to the Provost. The first business course was offered at Michigan State College in 1925, and was followed in 1944 by the creation of the Business and Public Service School, which directly preceded the current college. The College administers a variety of schools, including the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management, the Finance and Insurance Department, and the Business and Economic Research Bureau.

In 1991, this was renamed The Eli Broad College of Business and the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management.
