Scope and Contents

The records of the College of Business (which includes the Graduate School of Business Administration) contains faculty bibliographies 1965-1970, program brochures, directories of graduate students and doctoral degrees from 1948 to 1982, correspondence, news releases, alumni directory for 2004, seminar proceedings, workshop brochures, as well as reports. Also included is material related to the Brazil project including correspondence to Dean Wyngarden giving updates, budget, updates to President Hannah, development plan, and drafts of the project contract. The records also include several VHS videotapes documenting several issues important to or involving the College of Business. These include the Lear Center dedication ceremony (1999), Commementments (1999), Distinguished Alumni Awards (1998), Recruitment & Development videos, and local newscasts.

The Electronic Resources includes an e-mail detailing the College's positive showing in the a 2014 Businessweek Full-Time MBA program ranking issue. Also included are issues of the CIBERweb newsletter from 2007 to 2014, globalEDGE newsletter from 2002 to 2014, the Global Business Club eNews from 2011 to 2015, and Accounting & Information Systems eNews from 2014 to 2016.

Historical Note

Since it began operations in 1962, the College of Business and the Graduate School of Business Administration have reported to the Provost. The first business course was offered at Michigan State College in 1925, and was followed in 1944 by the creation of the Business and Public Service School, which directly preceded the current college. The College administers a variety of schools, including the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management, the Finance and Insurance Department, and the Business and Economic Research Bureau.

In 1991, this was renamed The Eli Broad College of Business and the Eli Broad Graduate School of Management.
